My Weekly Higlights

The last week was a good one in some ways but also a bad one. It was bad because we are still waiting to see what happens with the house we put an offer in on. It was great because of all the awesome things that happened. Here is a quick wrap up of the highs and some lows.

Monday: We concreted a driveway and once finished left. About ten minutes away from the job we got a phone call saying that the mans dog had got out and run up and down the driveway. We rushed back and had to work like hell to make it look half decent. It went from a job that looked like a million dollars to a job that looked very average. Bad luck for him. (LOW)

Tuesday: I saw a mentally challenged man dressed in a suit waiting for a bus. It made me smile because I have never seen someone so proud of the way he was dressed.

Friday: I went to the Clipsal 500 to watch the races with a few people. It was a really awesome day with great weather.

The weekend: Went down to our farm and relaxed. Watched the Clipsal 500 races all weekend and had a few beers with Hoggot and Sam when they came down. All up a very good weekend.

My Disappointment

This week was a bit of a disappointment for the girl and I. We put an offer in on a house. Our offer was a bit lower than their asking price but we though we could negotiate and maybe meet them in the middle of both. We were very disappointed to hear that they rejected our offer and wouldn't budge on their price. We were both gutted because their price is more than we could afford. It was such an incredible house. I really wished we had gotten it. I guess its back to looking.

My HC Training

Im tired. The last week and a bit have been absolutely draining for me. I started driving lessons to get my Heavy Combination (HC) License on Monday of last week and after three 5 hours lessons and then a grueling 9 hour session on Sunday I completed the training. I learnt in an old piece of shit truck with a 15 meter long trailer on the back. Now that I have completed it I can drive anything up to 50000kg, which is more than I will ever need. I only need the license to tow the trailers that we put our excavators on but had to go to the trouble of getting a semi license. I am so glad it is over because 5 hours of driving a semi trailer around town is too much and 9 hours was hell.

Apart from that the week was a blur. I cant really remember much of it. Had Mexican Thursday with a few people and the Ed hotel Saturday night to hang out and then again Sunday for Ashley's birthday. A good weekend ruined by a 9 hour driving lesson Sunday. Now its another working week again and its all a blur.

The BIG news is that the girl and I found a house that we really like so we put an offer in and are waiting now. Hopefully we get it, so keep your fingers cross for us!!
