My News Flash
I came to the realisation before that in this day and age of mass news broadcasting old events are not news events. News has started to only have breaking stories and no follow up events. For instance what is happening to the victims of hurricane Katrina? This disaster was said to be the biggest in America's history and all of a sudden its like it didn't happen at all. The tsunami in Asia is another example. It just seems to me that if it didn't happen that day I'm not going to hear about it anywhere but Wikipedia and this bothers me because I think people get too caught up in the latest Britney, Kevin, Bob, Marky, Randal or who ever wedding and don't take the time to at least realise that nothing is perfect in this world. I'm not saying that reading about Britney's life isn't interesting and a great way to distract your mind from life but there are other things that should also be widely known to the public. Sorry CNN you guys just don't cut it.

hahaha, ah i love it. i will catch ya tomorow night
As much as I hate to say it, it's because people get sick of hearing about it. The only way we'll hear about the victims of Hurricane Katrina before the one-year anniversary is if something massive happens, like the levees crack or someone gives a billion fapillion cents or something.
Fapillion isn't a real world.
People do get way too distracted by celebrities and all their bullshit. Personally, recently I've developed a lot of problems with journalism, and I'm not even sure if I'm going to finish my degree.
Really? wow thats crazy dude. But finishing could be a way to change what has happened and do your own thing.
I don't think it's that people get sick of hearing about it.. they just get distracted with the next big thing.
Then you have the people who, even if they do care about the cause, use events like Hurricane Katrina to promote themselves as good samaritans or charitable people.
Here are some links that I believe will be interested
